ByeLui Privacy Policy

This policy applies to the ByeLui app for Android (“ByeLui”, “the app”), published by REPLACE: your name or company (“we”, “us”). If anything below is unclear, write to us at the address in the Contact section.

What ByeLui stores on your device

When you use the app, it saves the following in private storage on your phone:

• Transactions: amounts, dates, descriptions, notes, tags, and the category and payment method you choose.
• Categories, budgets and recurring transactions you set up.
• Payment card labels, such as “Mari Card”. These are names you type in to tell your cards apart. The app never asks for card numbers, expiry dates or security codes.
• Receipt photos, if you choose to attach them to a transaction.
• Your settings, and your PIN if you turn on the app lock.

This data stays on your device. We do not receive it, and we cannot see it.

What we collect

Nothing. ByeLui has no sign-up, no analytics, no crash reporting and no backend of ours. We have no copy of your data to share, sell or lose.

Advertising (Google AdMob)

ByeLui shows banner ads provided by Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads, the AdMob SDK running inside the app may collect and send to Google:

• Your device’s advertising ID
• Your IP address and the approximate location it implies
• Device and operating system details
• How you interact with ads, and app performance and diagnostic information

Google uses this information to show and measure ads, prevent fraud, and, where you allow it, personalise ads. It does not receive your transactions, budgets or other content you enter in ByeLui. Where the law requires it, we ask for your consent before showing personalised ads.

You can reset your advertising ID or opt out of ad personalisation in your Android settings (usually under Settings → Privacy → Ads; the path varies by device). For more detail, see how Google uses information from apps that use its services and the Google Privacy Policy.

Permissions the app may ask for

• Camera or photo access: only when you attach a receipt photo. The image is saved inside the app on your device.
• Biometrics: if you turn on fingerprint or face unlock, Android does the check. ByeLui is only told whether it succeeded, and never receives your fingerprint or face data.
• Internet: used by the ad SDK to load ads. ByeLui itself does not upload your data.

Exporting and sharing your data

You can export transactions as CSV, Excel or PDF, and create a backup file. These files are created on your device and handed to the app you pick in Android’s share menu, such as email or cloud storage. We never see them. Once you share a file, the receiving app or service handles it under its own policy.

Backups and deleting your data

ByeLui turns off Android’s automatic cloud backup, so your data is not copied to your Google account. That also means it is not restored on a new phone unless you export a backup file yourself and import it.

To delete your data, remove items inside the app, clear the app’s storage in Android settings, or uninstall ByeLui. Because we hold no copy, there is nothing further for us to delete. Data that Google holds through AdMob is managed through your Google account’s ad settings.

Security

Your data is protected by your phone’s own security, and by the optional PIN or biometric lock inside ByeLui. Keep your device locked and up to date, since anyone who can unlock your phone can open the app.

Children

ByeLui is a general budgeting app and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

If we change how the app handles data, we will update this page and the date at the top. Material changes will also be described in the app’s release notes.
